Manual or DSG
A DSG that jerks, hesitates or flashes the gear display is common on VWs, and we still buy them. On a manual, tell us how the clutch feels.
Body
Dents and scrapes
A few photos of each side and the wheels saves a lot of back and forth.
Inside
Interior and kit
Tell us the trim (S, SE, Match, GT, R-Line, Life, Style) and any extras worth mentioning.
Paperwork
Logbook, history and keys
A service book or digital record, the MOT history and two keys all help. Missing a key? Tell us up front.
Electric
Battery and range
Tell us the range on a full charge and whether you have the charging cables.

- Your V5C logbook
- Photo ID: driving licence or passport
- Both keys if you have them
- Service book or digital service record
- Charging cables for an electric VW or GTE
- If there is finance on it, the settlement figure from your lender
